Dancer (with apologies to Picasso)
Inspired by Pablo Picasso's work "The Three Dancers", I've been trying to make a dancer spatula to do justice to the painting for some time... The first attempt wasn't bad (you can see it on the group image below), but it lacked movement, and after a while I stopped making them altogether. Recently I decided to re-invent the design and I'm so much happier with it now, although I still feel the need to make my apologies to Picasso.
I REALLY wanted to use Picasso's full name on the label, but decided that "Dancer (with apologies to Pablo Diego José Francisco de Paula Juan Nepomuceno María de los Remedios Cipriano de la Santísima Trinidad Martyr Patricio Clito Ruíz y Picasso) was a little cumbersome. If someone were to request it however...
No two spatulas will ever be exactly the same. Each piece of wood is different, and the shape, curve and grain make up the character of each spatula. Individually cut, sanded, finished and oiled, each one is unique, and the photographs should be treated as a fair guide only. This one is in Ash.
